八月的丹麥（20）－文藝復興式紅磚建築
如果你想找個好地方，俯瞰哥本哈根整個城市的美景，除了在八月的丹麥（６）介紹過的圓塔(Rundetaarn／RoundTower)外，位於市中央的市政廳(Radhus)，便是另一個好地方。
市政廳(Radhus)是一座雄偉的文藝復興式紅磚建築，由建築師Martin Nyrop設計。正門牆上刻著哥本哈根城的創建者－阿布薩隆大主教的鍍金雕像，聳入天際的鐘樓高達105.6公尺，為哥本哈根公認的地標，可將全城美景盡收眼底。鐘樓上方的世界鐘，是自學成材的Jens Olsen花了四十年的心血完成，能精確顯示世界各地時間及各種天文。登鐘樓及看世界鐘都需購票，參觀市政廳則不收費。
市政廳前方是，是市政廳廣場（Radhuspladsen），屬於哥本哈根的交通樞紐，因為在這裏可找到各種的公共交通客運站，所以由早到晚，都聚集很多人，人潮此起彼落。有人從這裏出發，也有人從別處回來。此外，大會堂、眾議院（Politiken）、著名的皇宮酒店、特色美食餐廳、報攤，以及出名的丹麥polsevogne （熱狗站）都集中在此，熱鬧非常。到了晚上，這裏又會多了一大批遊客聚集，他們不是要乘搭交通工具，而是看表演，原來這裡可以免費飽覽附近的蒂沃利樂園的煙花表演（詳見八月的丹麥（１２）－全家人的歡笑娛樂）。
在八月的丹麥（９）中，介紹過歐洲最長的購物步行街（Strøget），Stroget全長達1.2公里，位於哥本哈根市中心，始建于17世紀，是連接Frederiksbereggade，Nygade，Amagertorv，Vimmelskaftet及Ostergade五條街道的超長行人徒步購物區，其東面便是由市政廳廣場（Radhuspladsen）開始，直到西邊的新國王廣場(Kongens Nytorv)。
